picture-7Southwest Baptist University is not renewing the contract with Survivor contestant Ben “Coach” Wade.   He will no longer coach the women’s soccer team. And by reading the Missourinet Sports and Springfield News Leader’s articles about it, I’m pretty sure it’s because his ego no longer fits in the building there. Turns out he doesn’t seem to be remorseful about the role he may have played in losing his contract…like uh not telling the school or his team where he was going or for how long. One might speculate by the article that he has done well with the game of Survivor, but as usual he’s not allowed to say.  I hope Thursday’s episode will shed more light on this guy, so we can see if he really is full of himself or if he’s just full of…something else.

picture-6This dude will definitely get noticed on season 18 of CBS’ Survivor Tocantins. He’s the women’s soccer coach at Bolivar’s Southwest Baptist University. But this hunk with hair is more than a super athlete. He’s also a musician. That’s quite a combo when you’re one of only a few men. Plus the 37-year-old is single…hmm, usually a good thing on this reality show. Let’s see if our Missouri man can bring home a million and a maiden. The show started an hour and a half ago. I think I’ll go watch it now. And hopefully he didn’t get kicked off already. I’ll let ya know.

picture-3Hollywood week on American Idol is only half over, but at this point the Show Me State still has two contenders in the running. India Morrison showed her stuff on Wednesday night’s group performance episode. This 22-year-old Kansas City native rapped her way into my heart and those of her three male group mates I would imagine. Plus, she’s cute as a button.

picture-2Our other hopeful is Von Smith of Greenwood. This guy had a mini-meltdown on Tuesday night’s episode but only because he wants this sooo bad. If you recall, his is the performance Simon called “indulgent rubbish” I believe, then went on to compare him to a 10 year old. But the judges still love him, and this home state does too. I just hope he can get a little more self confidence going and not over think himself into breakdownville.

And so the torture will continue for these two next week. The competition will be broken down to 36 contestants. Then we get to watch as the judges bring them into a room one by one and tell them their fate. It sure would be nice to see these guys on the live performance stage. They’ve both got great potential.
