Eagle Rock resident Randy Bailey is the one and only representative of Missouri on the upcoming season of Survivor: Gabon. The videographer’s bio is making its way across the blogosphere, with most painting him as a big meany. Bailey brags that he enjoys picking on those with less “strength and intellect.” The new season of Survivor begins on CBS on September 18.

He’s mighty talented but for goodness sakes, he’s turning me into a bawl bag. Neal E. Boyd sang the mother, of all his songs so far, with such conviction and ease you would never guess he’s not already contracted. And in addition, we get to hear about the town of Sikeston pulling together to get his mother an airline ticket…vote people vote. When I called to vote, the line was busy busy busy. I got through on around the 10th call. I also voted for The Cadence (of course) and the dance troup. Got through on the first call with both of them. Hmmm, I think the Boyd man is worry free for this round.

The Boys are Back

The two Missouri acts remaining on America’s Got Talent will hit the stage again this week. It will either be Tuesday or Wednesday, 7p.m. NBC.  Neil E. Boyd and The Cadence will need your votes to keep them on the show, since it’s down to 20 acts now.  Opera and percussion, perhaps they could combine their talents and do a show in Branson if AGT doesn’t work out.  I wonder if they’ve thought of that?

Is it me, or is America’s Got Talent better every summer?  Or could it be there are more peeps from Missouri gracing the stage. On tonight’s live semi-final show, Pierce Morgan called opera singer Neal E. Boyd, the Michael Phelps of the show.  This pleasantly plump fella from Sikeston brought goose bumps to my elbows, that’s for sure.  Also on the show was The Cadence, out of Springfield.  This group of percussionists continue to be compared to Blue Man Group.  But they are far more…they are friggin smokin hot!!!

Anyhow, this leg of competition is the first in which the home audience gets to decide who goes on to the finals.  Five out of the ten acts that competed will move on.  Even if the two acts I described above weren’t from the home state, they’re entertaining enough to tune in for.  I called and voted for both.  And the martial arts kid…she’s adorable.  And the cute little guitar playing chick.  She seems so sweet.  I wish they were from Missouri too!

Missouri is a hot bed of reality TV talent.  “American Idol” winner David Cook is from Blue Springs. “Hell’s Kitchen” winner Christina Machamer is from St. Louis. That’s just two. We have winners from top rated shows as well as those little known. Find out which reality television celebrities hail from the show me state and what they’re up to now.
